# Task Templates

Task templates save a primary task and its subtasks so you can reuse them across projects. They remove the repetitive work of creating similar tasks from scratch, which saves your team time and keeps recurring work consistent.

**In this guide you'll learn how to:**

- Find task templates in **Projects**
- Create a task template with subtasks in the right order
- Import a task template into a project's Kanban or List view
- Edit or delete a task template

## Where do I find task templates?

Task templates are managed in the **Projects** section, where you handle every aspect of your projects.

1. Click **Projects** in the left sidebar.
2. Open **Task Templates** within your project settings.

## How to create a task template

You create a template by naming it, adding a primary task and its subtasks, ordering them, and saving.

1. Click the **Task Templates** option within your project settings to start a new template.
2. Enter a unique **Template Name**, so you can easily identify the template later.
3. Enter a **Task Name** that describes the primary task for this template.
4. Add any subtasks associated with the main task. Give each subtask a specific name and description to clarify its purpose.
5. Drag and drop the subtasks into the order they should be completed. The tasks then follow the correct sequence when the template is applied.
6. Click **Save** to store your task template. It is now available for future use across similar projects.

## How to apply a task template to a project

You apply a template from the three-dot menu with **Import Tasks from Templates**.

1. When creating a new project or task, click the three dots and choose **Import Tasks from Templates**.
2. From the list of saved templates, select the one that fits your current project.
3. The template's tasks and subtasks populate in your project's Kanban or List view, ready to use.

## How to edit or delete a task template

You can update any saved template, or remove the ones you no longer need.

- **Edit:** update task names, add or remove subtasks, or change the order of subtasks.
- **Delete:** remove templates that are no longer needed, to keep your template list organized and relevant.

Task templates are especially useful for projects with repetitive elements. They cut the time spent recreating recurring tasks, so you can focus on delivering quality results.
