# Navigating OneSuite

You move around OneSuite with the sidebar on the left, which groups every module under five headings: **Track**, **Organize**, **Client**, **Revenue** and **Company**. The top bar holds your timer, your email **Inbox** and notifications, and your account menu at the foot of the sidebar opens **Settings** and **Billing**.

**In this guide you'll learn how to:**

- Find each module in the grouped sidebar
- Use the top bar for your timer, email and notifications
- Open **Settings**, **Billing** and your profile from the account menu
- Arrange your own sidebar in **Customize Navigation**
- Find a module that is missing from your sidebar

## How the sidebar is organized

The sidebar lists **Home** first and then five labelled groups, each holding related modules.

| Group | Rows | What you do there |
| --- | --- | --- |
| (no heading) | **Home** | Your dashboard. It is pinned first and cannot be moved or hidden. |
| **Track** | **Timesheet**, **Expenses**, **Approvals** | Log time and costs, and review your team's time and expenses. |
| **Organize** | **Tasks**, **Projects** | See your tasks across projects, and manage the projects themselves. |
| **Client** | **CRM**, **Clients**, **Contracts** | Work your pipeline, manage clients, and send documents for signature. |
| **Revenue** | **Invoices**, **Estimates** | Bill clients and send estimates before the work starts. |
| **Company** | **Team**, **Reports** | Manage your people, and read time, profitability and invoicing reports. |

Below the groups you may also see:

- **See more**: rows you have hidden from your sidebar, still one click away.
- **Favourites**: projects you have starred. This section appears once you star at least one project.

At the very foot of the sidebar is your account dock, showing your name and the business you are in.

**Note:** a row appears only when its module is switched on for your business and your profile has permission to open it. If a colleague sees a row you don't, one of those two is the reason.

## What the top bar holds

The top bar gives you your timer, your email and your notifications from any page.

- **Timer**: start and stop a timer from anywhere. It shows when the **Timesheet** module is switched on.
- **Inbox**: the **Inbox** icon opens your email. Email has no sidebar row, so this is how you reach it. The icon shows when the Email Inbox module is on and you can access **CRM** or **Clients**.
- **Notifications**: the bell icon lists your alerts.

## How to open your account menu

You open the account menu by clicking your name at the foot of the sidebar.

1. Click the account dock with your name and business at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Choose an item from the menu.

| Item | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **My Profile** | Opens your personal profile. |
| **Theme** | Switches between **Light**, **Dark** and **System**. |
| **Language** | Changes the interface language. |
| **Settings** | Opens your business settings. |
| **Billing** | Opens your OneSuite subscription. |
| **Get Support** | Contacts OneSuite support. |
| **Sign Out** | Signs you out. |

**Settings** and **Billing** are not sidebar rows. If you don't see them in the menu, your profile does not have access to settings. Ask an admin.

## How to find your way around Settings

Settings opens on **Customize Navigation**, with every other section listed in its own sidebar.

1. Click your name at the foot of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
2. Pick a section from the settings sidebar.
3. Click **Exit Settings** to return to your work.

| Section | Pages |
| --- | --- |
| **Customize Navigation** | Which modules your business uses, and how you arrange your own sidebar |
| **Client Portal** | **Customize Navigation**, **Permissions**, **Access Presets**, **Scheduling**, **Analytics** |
| **Email Templates** | Your saved email templates |
| **White Label** | **Domain**, **Sign-in Page**, **SEO**, **Email** |
| **Workspace** | **General**, **Profiles & Permissions**, **API Keys**, **Delete Business** |
| **Time Tracking** | **Work Types**, **Preferences**, **Expense Categories**, **Approval Policy** |
| **Integrations** | **Accounting**, **Analytics**, **Calendar**, **Cloud Storage**, **Email Inbox**, **SMTP Settings**, **Meeting Scheduling**, **Incoming Webhooks**, **Payment** |

You only see the sections and pages your profile has permission for.

## How to arrange your sidebar

You arrange your own sidebar in **Settings**, **Customize Navigation**, in the block **How you arrange your sidebar**. Your arrangement changes nothing for anyone else.

1. Click your name at the foot of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
2. Open **Customize Navigation**.
3. Under **How you arrange your sidebar**, drag groups and rows into the order you want.
4. Hide any row you don't use. Hidden rows move into **See more**.
5. Turn **Show group labels** off if you want one flat list instead of labelled groups.
6. Click **Save my sidebar**.

With group labels on, a row moves only within its own group. With them off, you can drag any row anywhere. **Home** is always first. To go back to the standard arrangement, click **Reset to default**.

## How to find a missing module

If a module is missing from everyone's sidebar, an admin can switch it on in **Settings**, **Customize Navigation**, in the block **Modules this business uses**.

1. Click your name at the foot of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
2. Open **Customize Navigation**.
3. Under **Modules this business uses**, switch the module on.
4. Click **Save modules**.

Only admins see these switches. Switching a module off removes its row from the sidebar for every member. **Clients** is always on and cannot be switched off.

If the module is on but you still can't see it, check **See more** in case you hid it, or ask an admin to check your profile's permissions.

## FAQs

### How do I collapse the OneSuite sidebar?

Click the **Collapse** handle halfway down the right edge of the sidebar to shrink it and give your work more room. Click the same handle, now **Expand**, to bring it back.

### Where is email in the OneSuite sidebar?

Email is not in the sidebar. Open it from the **Inbox** icon in the top bar, which is available on every page when the Email Inbox module is on.

### Where are Settings and Billing in OneSuite?

Settings and Billing are in your account menu, not the sidebar. Click your name at the foot of the sidebar, then choose **Settings** or **Billing**.

### Why does my sidebar look different from my colleague's?

Your sidebar differs because of three things: which modules your business has switched on, what your profile can see, and how each of you has arranged your own sidebar. An admin controls the first two. The third is yours alone.

### How do I get a hidden row back in my sidebar?

Open **See more** at the bottom of the sidebar to reach it right away. To put it back in its group, go to **Settings**, **Customize Navigation** and show the row again under **How you arrange your sidebar**.

### Can I hide modules instead of switching them off for everyone?

Yes. Hiding a row in **How you arrange your sidebar** affects only your own sidebar. Switching a module off in **Modules this business uses** removes it for every member, and only an admin can do that.
