# Client Portal Customization

Client Portal customization lets you control how your portal looks, what clients can access, and how you track their engagement, all from one settings area. The portal is one of your strongest tools for building client trust, so setting it up well gives every client a professional experience.

**In this guide you'll learn how to:**

- Add a welcome video to the client portal dashboard
- Turn sidebar links on or off, reorder them and add custom links
- Set up Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity tracking
- Choose the access level clients have on their projects

## How to add a welcome video to the dashboard

Paste a YouTube URL into the dashboard video field, and the video appears on the dashboard when your client logs in to the portal. It's a good way to welcome new clients, explain your process or set expectations from the start.

1. Go to **Settings** in the sidebar.
2. Navigate to **Client Portal Settings**.
3. Click **Dashboard**.
4. Paste your **YouTube URL** into the video field.

The video appears directly on the dashboard when your client logs in to their portal.

## How to customize the portal sidebar

Open **Settings**, **Client Portal Settings**, **Sidebar** to control the main navigation your clients see in the portal. You can hide modules that aren't relevant, reorder links, and add custom links such as your website, calendar or meeting scheduler.

1. Go to **Settings**, **Client Portal Settings**.
2. Click **Sidebar**.

### How to turn links on or off

Use the switch next to each default link to turn it on or off. For example, if you don't want clients to see the **Projects** section, turn it off.

### How to reorder links

Drag and drop any link to change its position in the sidebar. This lets you put the most important sections first for your clients.

### How to add custom links

Click **Add Custom Link** to add any URL you want clients to see in the sidebar next to the default links. Common uses include:

- Your website
- A booking or calendar link
- A meeting link
- Any other resource specific to your client relationship

## How to set up analytics and tracking

OneSuite supports Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, so you can track how clients use the portal.

1. Go to **Settings**, **Client Portal Settings**.
2. Click **Settings** within the Client Portal section.
3. Enter your **Google Tag Manager Container ID** or **Google Analytics** tracking ID, or connect **Microsoft Clarity**, as needed.

| Tool | What you enter |
| --- | --- |
| **Google Tag Manager** | Your **Google Tag Manager Container ID** |
| **Google Analytics** | Your **Google Analytics** tracking ID |
| **Microsoft Clarity** | Connect **Microsoft Clarity** |

**Note:** Google Tag Manager only works on the white-label version of OneSuite with a custom domain. It does not work on the default OneSuite subdomain.

## How to set client portal permissions

If the **Projects** module is on, you choose how much access clients have when they view or work on their projects in the portal.

1. Go to **Settings**, **Client Portal Settings**.
2. Find the **Client Portal Permissions** section under the **Projects** module.
3. Choose the access level for your clients.

| Access level | What clients can do |
| --- | --- |
| **View Only** | See project details but not make changes. |
| **Create & Update** | Create tasks, add comments, reply to threads and upload files. |

Choose the level that fits your workflow. **View Only** suits most client relationships, while **Create & Update** works well when you want clients to actively collaborate on their deliverables.
