# Adding Your Payment Methods

Payment methods let your clients pay an invoice online, straight from the invoice you send them. Connect a payment gateway once and every new invoice carries a pay button, so clients can pay you the moment they open it.

**In this guide you'll learn how to:**

- Connect a payment gateway to OneSuite
- Enter the keys each gateway needs
- Check which gateways your invoices can use
- Turn online payment on or off for one invoice

## Before you start

- Open an account with the payment gateway you want to use, and find its API keys. They are usually in the gateway's developer or API settings.
- You need access to your business's admin settings. If you can't see **Integrations** in **Settings**, ask an admin.

## How to connect a payment gateway

You connect gateways in **Settings**, **Integrations**, **Payment**, on the **Payment Methods** page.

1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then click **Settings**.
2. Under **Integrations**, click **Payment**.
3. On the **Payment Methods** page, click the card for your gateway. A gateway you haven't set up yet shows **Connect**.
4. In the dialog that opens, paste the keys from your gateway account. The table below lists what each one asks for.
5. Click **Save**.

The card now shows **Connected**. OneSuite rejects an empty field, for example **Please, provide your Stripe API key**. To replace your keys later, click the card again, enter the new keys and click **Save**.

| Gateway | What OneSuite asks for |
| --- | --- |
| Stripe | **Stripe Secret/API Key** |
| PayPal | **PayPal API Key**, **PayPal API Secret** |
| Quickpay | **Quickpay API Key**, **Quickpay Private Key** |
| Razorpay | **Razorpay API Key**, **Razorpay API Secret**, **Razorpay Webhook Secret** |
| HitPay | **HitPay API Key**, **HitPay Salt** |
| CHIP | **Brand ID**, **Secret Key** |

For Razorpay, the dialog also shows a webhook URL. Add that URL in your Razorpay Dashboard and subscribe it to the `payment_link.paid` event.

## How to check which gateways your invoices can use

You can see every gateway's status in **Invoices**, **Configure**, **Getting paid**, under **Online payments**.

1. Click **Invoices** in the sidebar.
2. Click the **Configure** tab, then **Getting paid**.
3. Under **Online payments**, check that your gateway shows **Connected**.

This list is read-only. To connect or change a gateway, click **Manage in Settings › Integrations › Payment**. A gateway you connect is switched on for new invoices. An invoice created earlier keeps its own choice, so switch the gateway on in that invoice's **Payments** panel, save it and send it again.

## How to turn online payment on or off for one invoice

You control online payment per invoice with the **Online payments** switch in the invoice editor's rail.

1. Open the invoice in the editor.
2. In the rail, open **Payments**.
3. Switch **Online payments** on to put a pay link on the invoice for the gateways listed below it.
4. Under **Gateways**, switch each connected gateway on or off for this invoice.
5. Save the invoice.

If a gateway isn't connected yet, the panel names it with a **Connect in settings** link. Your client sees a **Pay Now** button for each gateway you leave on, under **Online Payment Methods** on the web invoice.

There is no disconnect button on the **Payment Methods** page. To stop offering a gateway on an invoice, switch it off in that invoice's **Payments** panel.

## FAQs

### Which payment gateways does OneSuite support?

OneSuite supports Stripe, PayPal, Quickpay, Razorpay, HitPay and CHIP. You connect each one in **Settings**, **Integrations**, **Payment** with the API keys from your gateway account.

### Why doesn't my old invoice show a pay button after I connected Stripe?

A gateway you connect is switched on for new invoices only. Open the older invoice, switch the gateway on in its **Payments** panel, save it and send it again.

### Can I use more than one payment gateway?

Yes. Connect each gateway on the **Payment Methods** page. On each invoice, switch on the gateways you want under **Payments**, **Gateways**, and your client chooses how to pay.

### How do I disconnect a payment gateway?

The **Payment Methods** page has no disconnect button. To stop a gateway appearing on an invoice, switch it off in that invoice's **Payments** panel in the editor.

### Can I just take bank transfers instead?

Yes. You can print your bank details on invoices with or without an online gateway. See [How to Add Direct Bank Transfer Instructions to Your Invoices](https://help.onesuite.io/docs/add-direct-bank-transfer-on-invoices/).
